He estado en Santo Domingo por tres días. Antes de me destino aquí, estuve en Cabaréte por dos semanas. Yo tuvo una buena experiencia esta mañana cuando yo fui a la escuela. Yo fui a escuela en una gua-gua. Gua-guas tienen muchas personas adentras, y la gua-gua parada frequentamente. Yo no supe donde la gua-gua iba, así yo tuve suerte porque la gua-gua lo llegó en el lugare correcto. El monte fue muy interesante porque había muchas personas estuvieron levantando y parada, y chofer estuvo muy loco. El cobrador de la gua-gua estuvo parado cerca del frente de la gua-gua, y el estuvo gratando por cada parada. Lo fue primero experencia con una gua-gua, y ahora yo sé que un monte es 25 pesos, no 40 pesos. Necessito saber el pasaje por mi routa en la gua-gua, antes yo lo monto. Por consiquente, ahora yo sé más sobre de la systema de transportación en Santo Domingo. 

I am beyond excited to travel to the Dominican republic to learn Spanish. I think Santo Domingo will be a city of cultural elegance and interesting people. I imagine the people of Santo Domingo to be polite, kind, and proud of their culture.

Getting back into the routine of speaking Spanish constantly will be an initial challenge for me, but this is also what I am looking forward to. From past experience, I know that an immersion program for learning a language is the best possible way to learn the language. I look forward to meeting my host family and learning about their routines, customs, and personalities.

Although I am looking forward to eating exotic foods, one of my biggest fears is getting sick from some crazy bacteria. I am going to try all the foods that I can, but also be very careful about not drinking tap water or eating anything that has been washed with tap water.

I know this trip will make me more independent and will further help me to understand and appreciate the culture of the Dominican Republic.
